Influencing Parameters at Drum Screens for Packaging Screening
Drum (trommel) screens are extensively utilized in the classification of packaging waste according to its particle size. The present study aims to quantify the size‐classification behaviour of elongated, hollow packaging‐like items (representing bottles, tubes and cups) using cylindrical and tubular test pieces.

Prospective LCA of E‐Methanol Along the Transformation of Steel Industry
The environmental effects of change in steel production route on e‐methanol production are analyzed as they shift from blast furnace route to direct reduction route. Specific hydrogen demand reduces, as do the avoided CO2 emissions. E‐methanol's overall carbon footprint stays in a narrow range of −1 to −1.1 kg‐CO2‐eq./kg‐methanol.

The global climate crisis has accelerated efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions in the energy sector. While renewable energy faces limits in capacity and high costs, nuclear power offers a low-carbon, reliable baseload alternative and has been included in the EU Green Taxonomy since 2023 as a top option for achieving net-zero targets.

This study evaluates how small water impurities—typical in ammonia cracking feedstock—affect catalyst performance at elevated pressures and temperatures. By decoupling permanent degradation from reversible inhibition, the findings highlight trace water as a significant factor for reliable catalyst screening and industrial ammonia cracking scale‐up ...

Regional Assessment of Hydrogen Production and Use in the Intermountain West United States
Given the large natural gas (NG) reserves of the Intermountain West (I-WEST) region in the USA, it can emerge as a leader in hydrogen (H2) production. Currently, H2 production via steam methane reforming (SMR) of NG releases carbon dioxide (CO2) and the ...

Techno‐Economic Analysis of Methanol Production From Steel Mill Gases
A techno‐economic analysis for the synthesis of methanol from steel mill gases is carried out. Four different process concepts are defined and analyzed. The analysis yields levelized cost of methanol estimates between €1130 and €1419 t−1. Sensitivity analyses identify hydrogen production as the largest contributor to cost.

Review of CFD modelling techniques for single‐phase and multiphase flow in static mixers
This review synthesizes computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approaches for static mixers, linking hydrodynamics to pressure drop, particle/droplet distributions, mixing metrics, and heat‐transfer performance to guide modelling choices and design decisions. Abstract Static mixers enable compact and low‐energy intensification.

Marketing authorizations for oncology drugs are often based on single‐arm trials (SATs), and real‐world data‐based external comparator cohorts (ECCs) are increasingly explored to contextualize results. In retrospective studies, comparators may be identified by time of diagnosis but included based on time of relapse; such sampling strategies can ...
