ABSTRACT Zircon is a common, highly refractory accessory mineral found in sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks that forms through various processes (e.g., magmatic, hydrothermal, metamorphic growth and recrystallization). Trace element compositions of detrital zircon have been widely applied to understanding tectonic processes and continental ...

Quartz trace elements composition of different granitoids: case studies from the Kaboodan, Baneh and Sabzevar areas [PDF]
In this study, the trace element composition of various types of granitoids (I-type, S-type, and plagiogranites) at different geological settings was measured using the LA-ICP-MS method, and their distribution was investigated. The amounts of elements Al,

Petrology of Oligocene Ghaleh Yaghmesh granitoids in the west of Yazd province
Introduction The generation and evolution of granitic magmas has been a hot debated subject among petrologists. The diversity of their origin has led different authors to propose that these rocks are not simple in their origin and might be generated in

EXAMINATION OF TWO GRANITE PHASES ALONG WADI ABU ZAWAL AREA, NORTHEASTERN DESERT, EGYPT [PDF]
The present work deals with the two granite phases along Wadi Abu Zawal area, North Eastern Desert, Egypt. G. Ad-Dub is located at the northeaster part of the mapped area as an elongate granitoid belt covering collectively about 0.5km2, tending NE and ...

Abstract Utilizing synthetic models for the interpretation of ground‐penetrating radar (GPR) profiles can aid in the detection of hydrogeological structures by identifying their signatures. In this study, finite difference (FD) forward modelling was used to understand the detection ability of 50 MHz GPR for (1) the quaternary deposit–bedrock contact ...

Middle Triassic turbidites in the Youjiang Basin were chiefly derived from a Late Palaeozoic continental arc along the southeastern South China Block, as revealed by detrital zircon U–Pb geochronology and tourmaline geochemistry, supporting a tectonic model driven by Paleo‐Pacific subduction rather than Paleo‐Tethyan closure.

Geochemistry and petrogenesis of the Kolah-Ghazi granitoid assemblage, south of Esfahan
Introduction The Kolah-Ghazi granitoid assemblage is located in the south of Esfahan and in the Sanandaj-Sirjan magmatic-metamorphic zone. The Sanandaj-Sirjan zone is extended for 1500 km from Sirjan in the southeast to Sanandaj in the northwest of Iran
