Composition and Provenance of Victoria Group Sandstones in Southern North Victoria Land, Antarctica
Three distinct source areas contributed to sandstones of the Victoria Group within the Transantarctic Basin in southern North Victoria Land. During the Permian, quartzose sandstones were derived from erosion of the local Ross Orogen, likely from an uplifted swell in the area of today's Ross Sea, the Ross High.

Petrology and Geochemistry of the Qozlou Granitoid and Related Fe skarn (west Zanjan)
Introduction Fe skarn deposits are one of the important Fe deposits in the Zanjan province which have been exploited in recent years. The Qozlou Fe deposit is one of these Fe skarn deposits which is located at 65 km west of Zanjan.

The structurally controlled Otūwhero estuary on the SE boundary of Abel Tasman National Park is a small partially filled incised valley. The small size, limited number of fluvial inputs, accessibility and surrounding land use made it an ideal candidate on which to investigate potential climate‐induced estuarine behaviour. Surficial sediment samples and

Abstract The slab breakoff model is a preferred geodynamic interpretation for post‐collisional exhumation and associated magmatic flare‐ups. In this study, rutile U–Pb dating of retrograde eclogites revealed distinct stages of exhumation along the Paleo‐Tethyan sutures in southwest China. The studied samples yielded ages of 246.7 ± 8.5 and 239.7 ± 14.0

Abstract. In the Paleozoic, the Alxa Block was situated between the Central Asian Orogenic Belt and the North Qilian Orogenic Belt, and experienced intense magmatic activity. Thus, the Alxa Block is an important area for understanding the tectonic framework and evolution of these two orogenic belts.

I-type granitoids associated with the early Paleozoic intracontinental orogenic collapse along pre-existing block boundary in South China [PDF]
Abstract The early Paleozoic Wuyi–Yunkai orogeny resulted in extensive magmatism in the Cathaysia and eastern Yangtze blocks, South China. Identifying the nature of related magmatism is essential for understanding the orogeny that remains enigmatic with regard to its tectonic setting and geodynamic driving force.

Abstract The Gyeonggi Massif is one of the major Precambrian basements in the Korean Peninsula where Paleoproterozoic orthogneiss and paragneiss were widely exposed. In this study, newly identified Rhyacian to Orosirian meta‐igneous rocks from the northwestern Gyeonggi Massif (Soyeonpyeongdo and Ganghwado areas) were investigated to elucidate their ...

Past the First Date: Ensemble Concordant–Discordant Comparison for Zircon Pb‐Loss Analysis
Abstract Zircon uranium–lead (U–Pb) geochronology is a cornerstone of Earth science for resolving the timing of deep‐time processes, yet the U–Pb system does not always behave as a closed chronometer. Selective loss of radiogenic Pb during fluid alteration or thermal disturbance can shift isotopic ages and generate discordant analyses. Some zircon data

Abstract Porosity and permeability in crystalline shield basement are commonly assumed to be low, yet some fault zones sustain fluid circulation over kilometer scales. Here we quantify multiscale fault‐zone connectivity at Kivetty, central Finland, by integrating legacy deep‐borehole data, including packer tests, downhole logs, and a long‐term multi ...
