Postoperative Stress Accelerates Atherosclerosis Through Inflammatory Remodeling of the HDL Proteome and Impaired Reverse Cholesterol Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study shows that noncardiac surgical inflammation rapidly disrupts HDL function and cholesterol efflux in mice and human patients. Impaired reverse cholesterol transport after surgery drives rapid lipid accumulation, NETosis, and apoptosis within atherosclerotic plaques.

Efficient Monte Carlo simulation of streamer discharges with deep-learning denoising models

open access: yesMachine Learning: Science and Technology
Electric breakdown in non-conducting gases is a complex process that in its first stages is characterized by filamentary discharges called streamers. Streamer dynamics are inherently nonlinear and span broad temporal and spatial scales, making numerical ...

Ef fect of rhizobacteria isolated from Suaeda sp. in the growth of Arabidopsis thaliana and Solanum lycopersicum L. (Sahariana)

open access: yesTerra Latinoamericana, 2023
The rhizosphere of the great diversity of plants is a complex ecosystem that houses thousands of rhizobacteria that promote plant growth. In the current investigation, three bacteria were isolated from the root of Suaeda sp., which were evaluated to ...

Asteroids Coupled Dynamics Analysis by Means of Accurate Mass Distribution and Perturbations Modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
One of the most important aspects when dealing with a Potentially Hazardous Object (PHO) is the accurate determination of its dynamical state. In particular, the determi-nation of orbital and rotational perturbations is important to propagate accurately ...

Improved Drought Stress Response in Alfalfa Plants Nodulated by an IAA Over-producing Rhizobium Strain

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
The drought–stress response in plant involves the cross-talk between abscisic acid (ABA) and other phytohormones, such as jasmonates and ethylene.

Soybean Auxin Transporter PIN3 Regulates Nitrate Acquisition to Improve Nitrogen Use and Seed Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Xu et al. discovers that switching off auxin transporters in soybean, PIN3a and PIN3b, disrupts auxin flow; this triggers ARF‐STF3/4 signal cascade to activate the nitrate importer NPF2.13 and soil nitrogen acquisition. Multi‐year field trials show edited soybeans maintain yield with higher oil content, offering a potential genetic route to improve ...

THE CONTENT OF PLANT HORMONES IN CALLUS TISSUE DURING THE INDUCTION OF SOMATIC EMBRYOGENESIS IN EMBRYOS OF NORWAY SPRUCE (PICEA ABIES [L.] KARST.)

open access: yesTransactions of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2016
Somatic embryogenesis was induced in embryos of Picea abies by adding 2,4-D and BAP to the culture medium. The content of IAA, ABA, zeatin-ribosid and 2ip was determined at various stages of callus tissue formation using ELISA. The process of embryogenic
