Restriction of Individual Branched‐Chain Amino Acids has Distinct Effects on the Development and Progression of Alzheimer's Disease in 3xTg Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Protein restriction (PR) slows Alzheimer's disease (AD) in mice, and other benefits of PR are due to decreased branched‐chain amino acids (BCAAs). We show that restricting any BCAA has benefits, with sex‐ and BCAA‐specific impacts on pathology, molecular signaling, and cognition.

Neuroprotective Effects of Time‐Restricted Feeding Combined With Different Protein Sources in MPTP‐Induced Parkinson's Disease Mice Model and Its Modulatory Impact on Gut Microbiota Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) exerts protein‐dependent neuroprotective effects in an MPTP‐induced Parkinson's disease model. In casein‐fed mice, TRF improves gut barrier integrity and reduces neuroinflammation, possibly via modulation of Allobaculum and BCAAs.

A Combination of IBA and NAA Resulted in Better Rooting and Shoot Sprouting than Single Auxin on Malay Apple [Syzygium malaccense (L.) Merr. & Perry] Stem Cuttings

open access: yes, 2018
This research aimed to study effects of IBA, NAA and their combination on rooting and shoot sprouting in Malay apple cuttings. Cuttings from superior genotype were collected and treated with (in ppm w/w): 0, 2000 IBA, 4000 IBA, 2000 NAA, 4000 NAA, 1000 ...

Islet Amyloid Polypeptide Modelled to Simulate Diabetes Co‐Oligomerized with β‐Amyloid 1‐42 Reproducing the Pathological Cascade of Alzheimer's Disease in Human Cerebral Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) was used to mimic T2DM, and Aβ42‐hIAPP co‐oligomers were delivered into the human mature cerebral organoids (COs), which reproduce typical AD pathology and significant neuronal death more closely resembling that of AD patients.

Effect of Cutting Time and IBA Application on the Rooting of Goji Berry Cuttings

open access: yesYüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Tarim Bilimleri Dergisi, 2021
This study was carried out between 2017-2018 and goji berry (Lycium barbarum L.) varieties were propagated with cuttings. In this study, the effects of cutting take time and indole-3-butryic acid (IBA) doses on rooting, shooting, root and shoot ...

Transition probabilities in the X(5) candidate $^{122}$Ba

open access: yes, 2010
To investigate the possible X(5) character of 122Ba, suggested by the ground state band energy pattern, the lifetimes of the lowest yrast states of 122Ba have been measured, via the Recoil Distance Doppler-Shift method.

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Doehl et al. discovered an adaptive neuroimmune mechanism that induces itch in tick‐exposed guinea pigs, enabling rapid tick removal. This itch‐induced tick removal (IITR) is mediated by an adaptive cellular immune response and is independent of IgG, IgE, or TRPV1.
