A Recombinant Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) Expressing S Protein of Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) Protects Chickens against IBV and NDV [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) causes a highly contagious respiratory, reproductive and urogenital tract disease in chickens worldwide, resulting in substantial economic losses for the poultry industry. Currently, live-attenuated IBV vaccines are used

Mounting Evidence for an Expanded Host Range of Influenza B Viruses [PDF]

open access: yesViruses
Influenza B viruses (IBV) belong to the family of Orthomyxoviridae and circulate annually in humans causing respiratory illness. Although they are considered an exclusively human pathogen, there is evidence of IBV infections in animals, including ...

Studies on avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Virology, 2005
SummaryThe resistance of avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) to several chemical and physical treatments was studied. Ten strains, including four Japanese strains, were used.1.

Structural polypeptides of coronavirus IBV.

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1981
Avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) was grown and radiolabelled with 35S-methionine, 3H-leucine and 3H-glucosamine in de-embryonated chicken eggs. Approximately 12 different polypeptides were clearly detected by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of virus preparations. Growth of IBV in chorioallantoic membrane cells labelled with 35S-methionine

Coronavirus IBV: structural characterization of the spike protein.

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1983
The spike protein (S; surface projection) of avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) strain M41 comprises two glycopolypeptides, S1 (mol. wt. 90 X 10(3] and S2 (mol. wt. 84 X 10(3], in equimolar proportions. The apparent mol. wt. of S was calculated as 354 (+/- 17) X 10(3) following co-sedimentation with catalase in sucrose gradients.

Similarities and differences of COVID-19 and avian infectious bronchitis from molecular pathologist and poultry specialist view point [PDF]

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences, 2020
Coronaviruses (CoVs) are important RNA viruses that affect respiratory, gastrointestinal and urinary system of human being and birds. These viruses originated from the subfamily Coronavirinae which genetically includes Alphacoronavirus, Beta coronavirus,

Genetic analysis of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) in vaccinated poultry populations over a period of 10 years

open access: yesAvian Pathology, 2023
Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is an avian pathogen from the Coronavirus family causing major health issues in poultry flocks worldwide. Because of its negative impact on health, performance, and bird welfare, commercial poultry are routinely ...

Genetic Changes of S Gene during Co-inoculation of Two Infectious Bronchitis Virus Vaccines in SPF Chicks

open access: yesJournal of Applied Veterinary Sciences, 2023
Despite widespread immunizations, infectious bronchitis (IB) remains a significant issue in the Egyptian poultry industry. Multiple IBV genotypes, GI-1, GI-13, GI-16, and GI-23 have been continually circulating among chicken flocks in Egypt, inducing a ...

Comparison of Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) Pathogenesis and Host Responses in Young Male and Female Chickens

open access: yesViruses, 2023
Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is an avian coronavirus that causes a disease in chickens known as infectious bronchitis (IB). The pathogenesis of IBV and the host immune responses against it depend on multiple factors such as the IBV variant, breed ...
