Investigation of biofilm production and icaA and icaD genes in Staphylococcus aureus isolated from heifers and cows with mastitis

open access: yesAnimal Science Journal, 2015
Biofilm formation and antimicrobial resistance of Staphylococcus aureus are important virulence factors in cases of mastitis in dairy cows. However, few studies have investigated mastitis strains isolated from heifers.

Staphylococcus epidermidis with the icaA− /icaD− /IS256 − genotype and protein or protein/extracellular-DNA biofilm is frequent in ocular infections

Journal of Medical Microbiology, 2013
In ocular infections (OIs) caused by Staphylococcus epidermidis, biofilms composed mainly of poly-N-acetylglucosamine (PNAG) have been widely studied, but PNAG-independent biofilms have not. Therefore, we searched for a relationship between the ica operon (involved in PNAG-biofilm) and the biochemical composition of biofilms in isolates from OI ...

Determine some of the virulent factors for isolates of Staphylococcus aureus by using a gene (icaA)

Journal of Health and Biology
Identifying the icaA gene in S. aureus isolates and assessing biofilm development using the PCR method were the goals of this investigation. The study included 20 S. aureus isolates sourced from patients with wound infections and other instances. The catalase, motility, coagulase, and growth on mannitol. We used salt agar tests to find S. aureus.

[Biofilm and role of icaA, icaD, and accumulation-associated protein in Staphylococcus epidermidis isolated in breast surgery].

Zhongguo xiu fu chong jian wai ke za zhi = Zhongguo xiufu chongjian waike zazhi = Chinese journal of reparative and reconstructive surgery, 2015
To investigate biofilm formation on the surface of silica gel by breast surgery clinical specimens of Staphylococcus epidermidis and to analyze the relationship between biofilm formation and icaA, icaD, and accumulation-associated protein (aap) gene.Between December 2011 and January 2013, 44 strains of Staphylococcus epidermidis were isolated from the ...

The frequency of mecA and icaA/icaD genes in staphylococci isolated from the ear canal of swimmers

2016
BACKGROUND: Staphylococci are the primary causes of external and internal auditory canal infections among other bacterial agents. The ability of disease in staphylococci depend on various virulence factors. The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency of mecA genes and slime production in staphylococci isolated from the external auditory ...
