Adsorption‐Engineered Hydrocarbon Ionomers for Durable Proton‐Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells
Hydrocarbon ionomers suffer from oxidation‐driven interfacial degradation in PEM fuel cell cathodes, leading to catalyst instability. Here, adsorption‐engineered poly(fluorene) ionomers decouple interfacial anchoring from oxidative degradation, enabling strong catalyst–ionomer interactions while resisting electrochemical oxidation.

Comparison of calibration methods of a PICO basal ice shelf melt module implemented in the GRISLI v2.0 ice sheet model [PDF]
Uncertainties in future sea level rise are mainly due to uncertainties in Antarctic ice sheet projections. Indeed, modelling the future of the Antarctic ice sheet presents many challenges.

Comparing a thermo-mechanical Weichselian Ice Sheet reconstruction to reconstructions based on the sea level equation: aspects of ice configurations and glacial isostatic adjustment [PDF]
In this study we compare a recent reconstruction of the Weichselian Ice Sheet as simulated by the University of Maine ice sheet model (UMISM) to two reconstructions commonly used in glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA) modelling: ICE-5G and ANU (Australian

Observing and Modeling Ice Sheet Surface Mass Balance [PDF]
AbstractSurface mass balance (SMB) provides mass input to the surface of the Antarctic and Greenland Ice Sheets and therefore comprises an important control on ice sheet mass balance and resulting contribution to global sea level change. As ice sheet SMB varies highly across multiple scales of space (meters to hundreds of kilometers) and time (hourly ...

Potential subglacial lake locations and meltwater drainage pathways beneath the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets [PDF]
We use the Shreve hydraulic potential equation as a simplified approach to investigate potential subglacial lake locations and meltwater drainage pathways beneath the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets. We validate the method by demonstrating its ability

Confinement‐Induced Donnan Potential Enables Sealed Hydrovoltaic Power From Microliter Water
An ultrathin MXene/cellulose nanofiber (CNF) nanochannel‐based hydrovoltaic generator produces sustained direct current (DC) from a single microliter droplet under sealed operation. Asymmetric nanochannel confinement establishes a persistent ion gradient and a confinement‐induced Donnan potential, harvesting the interfacial free energy released upon ...

Photocatalytic Water Splitting on the Lunar Surface: Prospects for In Situ Resource Utilization
Water has been found in craters on the moon nearby locations which are illuminated >80% of the time. Photocatalysis uses energy from sunlight to drive chemical reactions such as water splitting to produce oxygen and hydrogen. It is a scalable technology that requires lighter equipment and utilizes resources available on the moon. ABSTRACT The discovery
