Structural characterization of water and ice in mesoporous SBA-15 silicas: II. The 'almost-filled' case for 86 angstrom pore diameter [PDF]
Neutron diffraction measurements for D2O in SBA-15 silica of pore diameter 86 angstrom have been made in a temperature range from 300 to 100 K. The pore-filling factor for the liquid phase is 0.95, resulting in an `almost-filled' sample.

Ice origins of OCS and chemistry of CS2-bearing ice mantles
ABSTRACT Understanding the formation of carbonyl sulfide (OCS) in interstellar ices is key to constrain the sulfur chemistry in the interstellar medium (ISM), since it is the only ice S-bearing molecule securely detected thus far. Two general pathways for OCS formation have been proposed: sulfurization of CO (CO + S) and oxidation of CS (

Chemistry of Greenland Ice Sheet studied
The first ice coring project to include a major emphasis on the study of atmospheric processes and changes in the Greenland Ice Sheet that influence the chemistry of the ice core began in April of this year under the auspices of the Greenland Ice Sheet Project Two (GISP2).

Vibrational Ultra Strong Coupling of Water and Ice
Water is of vital importance for life and human activities on Earth—it exhibits unique properties due to its interlinked and multipoint hydrogen bonding network. Here, we experimentally show that water can undergo vibrational ultra strong coupling (V-USC)
