ICE LOAD ON SLOPED STRUCTURE FROZEN IN ICE
Ports, offshore platforms and other structures in areas with arctic conditions require special design. Ice loading is one of the important factors in the design of structures in the Arctic. Ice loads on a structure vary greatly depending on many parameters, including the profile of the structure.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Strengthening ice through cyclic loading [PDF]
ABSTRACTNew experiments reveal that the flexural strength of fresh water, columnar-grained ice loaded normal to the columns may be increased by about a factor of two upon reversed cyclic loading at a frequency of ~0.1 Hz at stress amplitudes of 1.3–2.6 MPa.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Some observations on statnamic pile testing [PDF]
Limited guidance on usage and methodology is currently available to engineers for the most common rapid load pile test, known as Statnamic. In order to improve the analysis of Statnamic testing in clay soils a full-scale instrumented auger bored pile was

We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Exclusive Operation Strategy for the Supervisory Control of Series Hybrid Electric Vehicles [PDF]
Supervisory control systems (SCSs) are used to manage the powertrain of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). This paper presents a novel SCS called Exclusive operation strategy (XOS) that applies simple rules based on the idea that batteries are efficient at ...

MODE OF ICE LOAD ACTING ON ICE BOOM FOR ICE CONTROL
The Okhotsk Coast of Hokkaido is covered with drift ice in winter. Drift ice that rushes into Saroma Lagoon causes heavy damage to scallops and oysters, and aquacultural facilities. So, an ice boom that prevents drift ice from rushing into the lagoon was constructed. The ice force acting on this ice boom depends on the fluid force, and it is determined
