Modelling the influence of marine ice on the dynamics of an idealised ice shelf
Understanding the dynamic behaviour of ice shelves, specifically the controls on their ability to buttress the flow of ice into the ocean, is critical for predicting future ice-sheet contributions to sea level rise.

Oceanographic observations at the Amundsen sea shelf break [PDF]
Introduction: The continental shelf environment of the Amundsen and Bellingshausen seas differs markedly from that of the other circumpolar seas, where water temperatures are close to the surface freezing point throughout.

Modeling ice shelf cavities in a z coordinate ocean general circulation model [PDF]
. Processes at the ice shelf-ocean interface and in particular in ice shelf cavities around Antarctica have an observable effect on the solutions of basin scale to global coupled ice-ocean models.

This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Southern Ocean warming: Increase in basal melting and grounded ice loss [PDF]
We apply a global finite element sea ice/ice shelf/ocean model (FESOM) to the Antarctic marginal seas to analyze projections of ice shelf basal melting in a warmer climate.

Antarctic ice shelf thickness from CryoSat-2 radar altimetry [PDF]
Ice shelf thickness for the whole of Antarctica is derived from 4 years (2011-2014) of CryoSat-2 (CS2) radar altimetry measurements using the assumption that the shelves are in hydrostatic equilibrium.

A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Classification of calving fronts around Antarctica [PDF]
Iceberg calving is the largest loss term in Antarctic mass balance. The iceberg areas vary from a few square meters (growler) to several hundred square kilometres (huge tabular icebergs or ice islands) and their shape (blocky, domed or tabular) depends ...

Ice shelves as floating channel flows of viscous power-law fluids [PDF]
IB is supported by a Science and Technology Facilities Council studentship. We explain the force balance in flowing marine ice sheets and the ice shelves they often feed.
