Regional changes in the flow velocity of Antarctic glaciers can affect the ice sheet mass balance and formation of surface crevasses. The velocity anomaly of a glacier can be detected using the Double-Differential Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar

Settling velocities of small ice crystals [PDF]
Settling velocities, masses and external dimensions were determined experimentally for small freely falling ice crystals grown for about 100 s at 12 different temperatures within the range −3.4 to −20°C. The corresponding terminal velocities were calculated using the above measurements, together with the empirical Be-Re relationships, deduced from ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Influence of Velocity on Ice-Cone Interaction
A series of upward breaking cone tests was conducted at NRC/IMD’s ice tank in level ice using EG/AD/S correct density model ice. Cone angles of 45° and 60° were tested. The effect of ice draft velocity in the range 0.005 to 0.5 m/s was studied for ice thicknesses ranging from 35 to 110 mm. The mean peak forces in both horizontal and vertical directions

Molecular-dynamics simulation of clustering processes in sea-ice floes
In seasonally ice-covered seas and along the margins of perennial ice pack, i.e. in regions with medium ice concentrations, the ice cover typically consists of separate floes interacting with each other by inelastic collisions.

Evolution of surface velocities and ice discharge of Larsen B outlet glaciers from 1995 to 2013 [PDF]
We use repeat-pass SAR data to produce detailed maps of surface motion covering the glaciers draining into the former Larsen B ice shelf, Antarctic Peninsula, for different epochs between 1995 and 2013.

This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Velocity response of Petermann Glacier, northwest Greenland, to past and future calving events [PDF]
Dynamic ice discharge from outlet glaciers across the Greenland Ice Sheet has increased since the beginning of the 21st century. Calving from floating ice tongues that buttress these outlets can accelerate ice flow and discharge of grounded ice. However,

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.
