Sphingosine‐1‐Phosphate Receptor 1 Promotes Ovarian Cancer Tumorsphere Proliferation and Metastasis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 3, Page 768-781, 1 August 2026.
In high‐grade serous ovarian cancer, malignant ascites frequently arise as ovarian cancer cells shed from the primary tumor and aggregate into tumorspheres, severely limiting treatment success. To date, little is known about the mechanisms governing tumorsphere endurance and metastasis within the ascites once formed.

Cross‐Linguistic Variations in Word‐Final Position: The Parametric Hierarchies, Connections and Networks

open access: yesStudia Linguistica, Volume 80, Issue 2, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Word‐final position is widely recognized as a structurally weak and restricted domain, yet languages differ strikingly in how they regulate segments and clusters at the right edge. While some systems categorically prohibit final consonants, others allow only a subset of segments, and still others impose process‐based adjustments such as final ...

ULK4 and CDKN2A polymorphisms influence the risk of developing monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 2, Page 410-422, 15 July 2026.
What's new? Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) is an asymptomatic precursor to multiple myeloma, sharing substantial genetic features with overt malignancy. Given evidence implicating autophagy in myeloma risk, this study examined whether genetic variations in autophagy‐related genes influence MGUS susceptibility.

Towards ICOS labelling of urban sites – Review of ICOS protocols from an urban perspective

open access: yes, 2020
ICOS RI is about to involve urban stations into the monitoring program. The first urban stations are already labelled as associated site. The ETC Working Group „Measurements over Urban Areas“, established in 2018, aims to define standard methods for ...

Parameterizing air–sea CO2 transfer in a macroalgal habitat and assessing its role in marine carbon dioxide removal accounting

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters, Volume 11, Issue 4, July 2026.
Abstract Accurately quantifying air–sea CO2 exchange remains a central challenge for the measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) of marine carbon dioxide removal. I apply direct eddy covariance measurements of CO2 fluxes at a macroalgae‐dominated coast to compile the first gas transfer velocity (k660) parameterization for such a habitat.

Impact of Genomic Mutations on the Transcriptional Pathways and Tumor Microenvironment Landscape of Localized Early Prostate Cancer

open access: yesThe Prostate, Volume 86, Issue 10, Page 1103-1114, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The management of intermediate‐risk early prostate cancer (PCa) is challenging due to the difficulty in distinguishing indolent from aggressive tumors. This study explores the association between genomic alterations and the tumor and its microenvironment (TME) and implications for disease progression. Methods We performed multi‐omic

Land Carbon Sink Distribution in Northern Eurasia Is Driven by Climate Change

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Boreal forests are a major contributor to the global land carbon sink under rising CO2 concentrations and a changing climate. Carbon sink estimates for Northern Eurasia from forest inventories, flux mapping, and remote sensing have moved toward convergence over the past decade, although substantial differences remain. Several bottom‐up and top‐

Polyphosphates Attenuate Interleukin‐12 Production in Macrophages Infected With Legionella pneumophila

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Legionella pneumophila infection leads to the release of pathogen‐associated molecular patterns, which recruits the adaptor protein MYD88, initiating both activating (e.g., NF‐κB) and inhibitory (e.g., PI3K/AKT) signaling pathways that regulate IL‐12 gene expression.
