CE Coupled to ICP-MS and Single Particle ICP-MS for Nanoparticle Analysis
2022Capillary electrophoresis (CE) can be used for the separation of nanoparticles (NPs). Coupling of CE to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) or single particle (sp)-ICP-MS enhances the analytical performance and capabilities of the method compared to CE with a standard detector (ultraviolet visible spectroscopy), in particular for ...

The use of internal standards in ICP-MS
Talanta, 1992Careful study of the matrix effect in ICP-MS showed that, in all cases studied, the magnitude of the signal suppression or enhancement depends in a regular way on the mass number. Hence, accurate correction for non-spectral interferences is only possible using an internal standard with mass number close to that of the analyte element(s).

Hydride Generation ICP-MS (HG-ICP-MS) for the Ultra LowLevel Determination of Mercury in Biota
Water, Air, & Soil Pollution, 1995Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS) utilizing both hydride generation and conventional nebulization as methods for sample introduction, has been applied to the analysis of Hg in urine and biota at sub μg/g (solid) and sub ng/g (liquid) levels.

ICP-MS and LC-ICP-MS for Analysis of Trace Element Content and Speciation in Cereal Grains
2011Trace elements are unevenly distributed and speciated throughout the cereal grain. The germ and the outer layers of the grain have the highest concentrations of trace elements. A large fraction of the trace elements is therefore lost during the milling process. The bioavailability of the remaining trace elements is very low. This is usually ascribed to

Alzheimer Disease & Associated Disorders, 1988
It has been known for over 100 years that trace elements play an essential role in metabolism. Some 24 elements are now acknowledged as being essential to life. Many conditions have been examined in recent years from a trace element viewpoint. Alzheimer's disease and the part played by aluminium has received much attention, particularly since Crapper's

Analysis of Wastewater by ICP-MS
Metallurgist, 2018Modern high-temperature nickel alloys used in the aviation industry and engine building are doped with different elements to the maximum and thus have a complex chemical composition. Production of these alloys can result in contamination with wastewater dumped into centralized sewerage system.

Determination of rhenium traces in river water by Q-ICP-MS and HR-ICP-MS
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2003A simple separation method was applied to determine rhenium in river water using Q-ICP-MS and HR-ICP-MS. Re was concentrated from 420-925 ml river water using a TEVA resin minicolumn. Such extraction using a resin could separate Re from most sample matrices and trace elements.

Multisignal evaluation in ICP-MS
Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 1996The existence of isobaric and polyatomic ion interferences has been considered to be a significant shortcoming of inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). In the special case of Mo-Zr-alloys problems caused by polyatomic ions are substantial.
