งานวิจัยนี้ได้พัฒนาวิธีตรวจวัดโลหะหนักในใบกระท่อมด้วยเทคนิคอินดักทีฟลีคัปเปิลพลาสมา-แมสสเปกโตรเมทรี (ICP-MS) ได้แก่ อาร์เซนิก แคดเมียม ปรอท และตะกั่ว พบว่าการเตรียมตัวอย่างด้วยวิธีการใช้คลื่นไมโครเวฟช่วยในการย่อยด้วยกรด (Microwave acid digestion) ให้ผลการวิเคราะห์ที่มีความแม่นและความเที่ยงที่ดีกว่า เมื่อเทียบกับการเตรียมตัวอย่างด้วยวิธีการย่อยแบบเปียก (
