1952. The testes of catfishes (Ictaluridae) are lobate and not compact, solid- appearing glands as in most warmwater fishes. The posterior one-fourth of the testis is reduced and retains a pink color throughout the year, but the anterior three-fourths becomes progressively larger and whiter as the spawning season approaches.
