An Investigative Redesign of the ECG and EMG Signal Conditioning Circuits for Two-fault Tolerance and Circuit Improvement [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
An investigation was undertaken to make the elctrocardiography (ECG) and the electromyography (EMG) signal conditioning circuits two-fault tolerant and to update the circuitry.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Tuning the Josephson diode response with an ac current

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Josephson diodes are superconducting elements that show an asymmetry in the critical current depending on the direction of the current. Here, we theoretically explore how an alternating current bias can tune the response of such a diode. We show that for

Integrating Vibrio natriegens for Photon Manipulation in Living Lighting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rationalization of genetic and material engineering tools has enabled the engineering of fluorescent Vibrio natriegens (V. natriegens) to fabricate straightforward, highly emissive and stable V. natriegens‐silicones color filters for the first red‐emitting bacteria‐hybrid light‐emitting diodes. This pinpoints V. natriegens as a high‐performance protein

Numerical analysis of high-index nanocomposite encapsulant for light-emitting diodes

open access: yes, 2005
We used two-dimensional Finte-Difference-Time-Domain (FDTD) software to study the transition behavior of nano-particles from scatterers to an optically uniform medium.

Metamaterial Antennas Enhance MRI of the Eye and Occipital Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A radiofrequency antenna platform comprising planar and bend configurations is developed, incorporating structurally integrated epsilon‐negative metamaterial unit cells to enhance MRI. These antennas enable high‐resolution in vivo human MRI of the eye, orbit, and occipital brain. Comprehensive validation, including simulations, phantom experiments, SAR,

Frequency Selective Surfaces as Reconfigurable Superstrate Applied to a Dipole Antenna for 5G NR [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications
This paper introduces a novel reconfigurable superstrate using a band-stop frequency selective surface (FSS) based on four arms star geometry. The proposed reconfigurable superstrate is applied to a dipole antenna for use in 5G NR technology with a ...
