Identifiability Implies Robust Identifiability

open access: yes, 1993
In identification from a deterministic point of view an algorithm is said to be robustly convergent if the true system is regained when the noise level tends to zero.

The Subjective Meaning of Cognitive Architecture: A Marrian Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2014
Marr famously decomposed cognitive theories into three levels. Newell, Pylyshyn, and Anderson offered parallel decompositions of cognitive architectures, which are psychologically plausible computational formalisms for expressing computational models of ...

Nonlinear Observability Algorithms with Known and Unknown Inputs: Analysis and Implementation

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
The observability of a dynamical system is affected by the presence of external inputs, either known (such as control actions) or unknown (disturbances).

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Parameter Identifiability and Redundancy in a General Class of Stochastic Carcinogenesis Models

open access: yes, 2009
Background Heidenreich et al. (Risk Anal 1997 17 391–399) considered parameter identifiability in the context of the two-mutation cancer model and demonstrated that combinations of all but two of the model parameters are identifiable.

Identifiability of Latent Class Models with Covariates

open access: yes, 2022
Latent class models with covariates are widely used for psychological, social, and educational research. Yet the fundamental identifiability issue of these models has not been fully addressed.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Understanding cyberhate: Social competition and social creativity in on-line White-supremacist groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This study investigated the self-enhancement strategies used by online White supremacist groups. In accordance with social identity theory, we proposed that White supremacist groups, in perceiving themselves as members of a high-status, impermeable group
