Assessing parameter identifiability for Dynamic Causal Modelling of fMRI data

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2015
Deterministic dynamic causal modelling (DCM) for fMRI data is a sophisticated approach to analyse effective connectivity in terms of directed interactions between brain regions of interest. To date it is difficult to know if acquired fMRI data will yield

When It Counts—Econometric Identification of the Basic Factor Model Based on GLT Structures

open access: yesEconometrics, 2023
Despite the popularity of factor models with simple loading matrices, little attention has been given to formally address the identifiability of these models beyond standard rotation-based identification such as the positive lower triangular (PLT ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Identifiability for Blind Source Separation of Multiple Finite Alphabet Linear Mixtures

open access: yes, 2017
We give under weak assumptions a complete combinatorial characterization of identifiability for linear mixtures of finite alphabet sources, with unknown mixing weights and unknown source signals, but known alphabet.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Quantitative assessment of the identifiability of pipeline systems★The research was carried out within the project III.17.4.3 of the Fundamental research program of SB RAS (AAAA-A17-117030310437-4)

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
The article is devoted to the issues of quantitative assessment of the identifiability of the pipeline systems (heat, water, gas supply systems etc.).

Towards Parameter Identification of a Behavioral Model from a Virtual Reality Experiment

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
In this paper, we investigate the calibration of a mathematical model describing different behaviors occurring during a natural, a societal, or a technological catastrophe. This model was developed in collaboration with geographers and psychologists.

Compressive Identification of Linear Operators

open access: yes, 2011
We consider the problem of identifying a linear deterministic operator from an input-output measurement. For the large class of continuous (and hence bounded) operators, under additional mild restrictions, we show that stable identifiability is possible ...

Molecular cancer prevention: Intercepting disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Oncological practice must evolve, from treating established tumours to proactive cancer interception before clinical manifestation. This will require mechanistic insight into tumour initiation, validated biomarkers of early disease development and redesigned clinical trials, enabling cancer interception to become a core pillar of oncology with the ...

Structural Identifiability and Observability of Microbial Community Models

open access: yesBioengineering, 2023
Biological communities are populations of various species interacting in a common location. Microbial communities, which are formed by microorganisms, are ubiquitous in nature and are increasingly used in biotechnological and biomedical applications ...
