Exploring the barriers to diagnosing malnutrition in patients with cancer: A study on oncologists' perspectives

open access: yesClinical Nutrition Open Science
Summary: Background and aim: Patients with cancer are at high risk of malnutrition, yet relevant ICD-10 codes for malnutrition are underutilized in cancer clinics.

Optimal local identifying and local locating-dominating codes [PDF]

open access: yes
We introduce two new classes of covering codes in graphs for every positive integer $r$. These new codes are called local $r$-identifying and local $r$-locating-dominating codes and they are derived from $r$-identifying and $r$-locating-dominating codes,

On the size of identifying codes in triangle-free graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
International audienceIn an undirected graph $G$, a subset $C\subseteq V(G)$ such that $C$ is a dominating set of $G$, and each vertex in $V(G)$ is dominated by a distinct subset of vertices from $C$, is called an identifying code of $G$.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Quantum Error Correction beyond SU(2): Spin, Bosonic, and Permutation-Invariant Codes from Convex Geometry

open access: yesPRX Quantum
We develop a framework for constructing quantum error-correcting codes and logical gates for three types of spaces—composite permutation-invariant spaces of many qubits or qudits, composite constant-excitation Fock state spaces of many bosonic modes, and

On Vertex-Robust Identifying Codes of Level Three [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Assume that G = (V, E) is an undirected and connected graph, and consider C subset of V. For every v is an element of V, let I(r)(v) = {u is an element of C : d(u, v) = 2t+1 for any two different vertices u and v.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
