Polonius: An Identity Authentication System

1985 IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy, 1985
Passwords have long been used as the most common method for providing user authentication when accessing remote computer systems. However, there are many security problems associated with passwords including their susceptibility to the attacks of eavesdropping, playback, and exhaustive search.

Is that you? Authentication in a network without identities

International Journal of Security and Networks, 2011
Most networks require that their users have 'identities', i.e., have names that are fixed for a relatively long time, unique, and have been approved by a central authority (in order to guarantee their uniqueness). Unfortunately, this requirement, which was introduced to simplify the design of networks, has its own drawbacks. First, this requirement can

Identity authentication using fingerprints

1997
We describe the design and implementation of an automatic identity authentication system which uses fingerprint to establish the identity of an individual. An improved minutia extraction algorithm that is much faster and more accurate than our earlier algorithm [12] has been implemented. An alignment-based elastic matching algorithm has been developed.

Identity-Based Identity-Concealed Authenticated Key Exchange

2021
Identity-based authenticated key exchange (ID-AKE) allows two parties (whose identities are just their public keys) to agree on a shared session key over open channels. At ESORICS 2019, Tomida et al. proposed a highly efficient ID-AKE protocol, referred to as the TFNS19-protocol, under the motivation of providing authentication and secure communication

A Novel Smartphone Identity Authentication Mechanism

Proceedings of the ACM Turing Celebration Conference - China, 2020
Identity authentication plays an important role in maintaining social security. With the rapid growth of population, an important issue is put in front of people.
