Hand-Based Biometric System Using Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesActa Informatica Pragensia, 2020
Today, data security is an increasingly hot topic, and thus also the security and reliability of end-user identity verification, i.e. authentication. In recent years, banks began to substitute password authentication by more secure ways of authentication

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

P2P network identity authentication mechanism based on trusted alliance

open access: yes网络与信息安全学报, 2020
In order to effectively solve the problems of CA's cross certification and single point of failure in traditional PKI system,a new identity authentication mechanism was proposed.Firstly, this mechanism built the basic architecture based on blockchain, and ...

Authenticity as a Test of Identity

open access: yesPoliteja, 2021
The identity of subjects participating in social processes or the daily functioning of social structures is a result of many factors – such as their representativeness and social typicality, the social programming of their personalities and activities, but also their personal experiences and individual characteristics.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Selfies as expressively authentic identity performance [PDF]

open access: yesFirst Monday, 2017
This paper explores whether or not our online social media persona is viewed as authentic. The selfie is a fundamental part of the structure of the online identity for young people in today’s digital world. The relationship between an individual’s self-identity in the physical face-to-face environment was analysed and compared to a carefully ...

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Comparing the usability of doodle and Mikon images to be used as authenticators in graphical authentication systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Recognition-based graphical authentication systems rely on the recognition of authenticator images by legitimate users for authentication. This paper presents the results of a study that compared doodle images and Mikon images as authenticators in ...
