Multiple Cerebral Infarcts and Encephalopathy as the First Clinical Manifestations of Hypereosinophilic Syndrome: A Case Report and Narrative Review

open access: yesPulse
Background: Hypereosinophilic syndrome is characterized by a peripheral blood eosinophil count >1.5 × 103/μL on two different examinations within a month of each other and/or a 20% or higher percentage of eosinophils in a bone marrow section ...

Hypereosinophilia Associated With Antisynthetase Syndrome With Anti‐Ro52/PL12 Co‐Positivity: An Unusual Presentation

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Hypereosinophilia is uncommon in ASS and this presentation makes diagnosis more challenging. Anti‐PL12's role in the severity of ILD is controversial but its association with anti‐Ro52 seems to give a more serious disease phenotype. African ethnicity could be a negative prognostic factor, associated with lung disease severity.

Hypereosinophilic syndrome

open access: yes, 2005
In light of a case of hypereosinophilic syndrome with no revealing underlying disease, the diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) are discussed.

Eosinophilic cholangiopathy with concurrent eosinophilic colitis in a patient with idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome

open access: yes, 2008
Eosinophilic cholangiopathy is a rare cholestatic disorder of unknown etiology. Simultaneous histologic documentation of eosinophilic involvement of the bile ducts and gastrointestinal tract has been reported previously in only a few well-documented ...

Hypereosinophilic syndromes (HES) – different possible faces – a challenge for doctors of various specialisations. Case-based review

open access: yesStudia Medyczne
For practical purposes, acquired eosinophilia can be divided into secondary, clonal, and idiopathic eosinophilia. The causes of secondary eosinophilia may be parasitic infections, allergic diseases, vasculitis, drug reactions, and lymphomas ...

A Case of Hypereosinophilic Syndrome Presenting with Multiorgan Thromboses Associated with Intestinal Obstruction

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Hematology, 2013
Idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) is a disease characterized by persistent hypereosinophilia (>1.5×109/L) for more than 6 months in the absence of other causes of reactive eosinophilia.

Six‐Month Benralizumab Maintenance for Relapsing Chronic Eosinophilic Pneumonia Guided by Eosinophil Kinetics

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
We report a case of relapsing chronic eosinophilic pneumonia where benralizumab showed superior durability compared to mepolizumab. Based on the eosinophil recovery kinetics (relapse at 8 months after withdrawal), a personalised maintenance strategy of benralizumab every 6 months was established, successfully maintaining remission for over 2 years ...

Ischemic Stroke in Hypereosinophilic Syndrome: A Clinicopathologic Study of Two Cases

open access: yesNeuropathology, Volume 46, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Ischemic stroke is a rare complication of hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES). Manifestations of stroke in HES have been described in the radiologic literature; however the pathologic characterization of central nervous system (CNS) involvement in HES is limited.

Treatment of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome with imatinib

open access: yes, 2008
We here report a case of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome with prompt response to treatment with imatinib. The patient presented with chest pain, myalgias, fatigue and weakness. Blood tests and bone marrow examination revealed striking eosinophilia.

Churg-Strauss vasculitis and idiopathic hypereosinophyl syndrome: role of molecular biology in the differential diagnosis of hypereosinophyl syndrome

open access: yesReumatismo, 2011
Objective: Hypereosinophilic syndromes are a heterogeneous group of uncommon disorders characterized by the presence of marked peripheral blood eosinophilia, tissue eosinophilia, or both, resulting in a wide variety of clinical manifestations, often ...
