SS-IDS: Statistical Signature Based IDS

open access: yes2009 Fourth International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services, 2009
Security of web servers has become a sensitive subject today. Prediction of normal and abnormal request is problematic due to large number of false alarms in many anomaly based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). SS-IDS derives automatically the parameter profiles from the analyzed data thereby generating the Statistical Signatures.

Studying Lexical Dynamics and Language Change via Generalized Entropies: The Problem of Sample Size

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
Recently, it was demonstrated that generalized entropies of order α offer novel and important opportunities to quantify the similarity of symbol sequences where α is a free parameter.

IDSX-Attention: Intrusion detection system (IDS) based hybrid MADE-SDAE and LSTM-Attention mechanism

open access: yesIJAIN (International Journal of Advances in Intelligent Informatics), 2023
An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is essential for automatically monitoring cyber-attack activity. Adopting machine learning to develop automatic cyber attack detection has become an important research topic in the last decade.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Less than one percent of words would be affected by gender-inclusive language in German press texts

open access: yesHumanities & Social Sciences Communications
Research on gender and language is tightly knitted to social debates on gender equality and non-discriminatory language use. Psycholinguistic scholars have made significant contributions in this field. However, corpus-based studies that investigate these

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Decoding the dynamic extracellular matrix in cancer—3D models and bioscaffolds rewire the rules of tumor progression

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer progression is regulated by the dynamic matrix code of the tumor microenvironment, which influences cellular behavior and disease development. Importantly, matrix remodeling in three‐dimensional cancer models more accurately reflects in vivo conditions compared to conventional two‐dimensional systems.
