Addressing Perceived Insecurity in Public Transportation: A PLS‐SEM Approach

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The sense of insecurity and fear of crime associated with public transportation are disadvantages that can deter individuals from using public transportation. We propose a methodology based on partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS‐SEM) to examine perceptions of insecurity among public transportation users in the Gran Valparaíso area ...

Poisson structures on loop spaces of $\mathbb{C} P^n$ and an $r$-matrix associated with the universal elliptic curve

open access: yes, 2019
We construct a family of Poisson structures of hydrodynamic type on the loop space of $\mathbb{C} P^{n-1}$. This family is parametrized by the moduli space of elliptic curves or, in other words, by the modular parameter $\tau$.

The Interplay Between Viral Infection and Cell Death: A Ping‐Pong Effect

open access: yesAdvances in Virology, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Programmed cell death (PCD) is a well‐studied cellular mechanism that plays a critical role in immune responses, developmental processes, and the maintenance of tissue homeostasis. However, viruses have developed diverse strategies to bypass or manipulate the host apoptotic machinery to enhance their replication and survival.

Expression of Human Cytomegalovirus IE1 Leads to Accumulation of Mono-SUMOylated PML That Is Protected from Degradation by Herpes Simplex Virus 1 ICP0

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2018
Our finding that HCMV IE1 protected hPML from degradation by HSV ICP0 is important, because the PML body (aka ND10) is believed to be the first line of host intrinsic defense against herpesviral infection.

Plethysm and fast matrix multiplication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Motivated by the symmetric version of matrix multiplication we study the plethysm $S^k(\mathfrak{sl}_n)$ of the adjoint representation $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ of the Lie group $SL_n$.

Memory inflation: Beyond the acute phase of viral infection

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 57, Issue 12, December 2024.
This review highlights the definition of virus‐induced CD8+ T cell memory inflation,as well as the impacts on multi‐diseases progression. By summarizing current understandings, an opportunity is provided for shedding a light on the long‐term influences of memory inflation in host‐immune homeostasis thus beyond the acute phase of infection.

Heart Rate Kinetics Response of Pre-Pubertal Children during the Yo-Yo Intermittent Endurance Test—Level 1

open access: yesSports, 2019
This study analyzed heart rate (HR) kinetics during the Yo-Yo Intermittent Endurance Test—level 1 (Yo-Yo IE1) in children. At the middle of the school year, 107 boys (7–10 years old) performed the Yo-Yo IE1. Individual HR curves during the Yo-

An approach to chaos in some mixed p-spin models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We consider the problems of chaos in disorder and temperature for coupled copies of the mixed p-spin models. Under certain assumptions on the parameters of the models we will first prove a weak form of chaos by showing that the overlap is concentrated ...
