Research on Reconfigurable Mechanism of Manufacturing System for Printing Process Based on ACP
The reconfiguration manufacturing system (RMS) allows mass manufacturing to be changed into customized mass production and short‐series production. However, the existing RMS models are not applicable to the printing production process, which is coexistence of the hybrid nature of being continuous and discrete.

Supremica – An integrated environment for verification, synthesis and simulation of discrete event systems [PDF]
An integrated environment, Supremica, for verification, synthesis and simulation of discrete event systems is presented. The basic model in Supremica is finite automata where the transitions have an associated event together with a guard condition and an

We present an architecture for accelerating the processing and execution of control commands in an ultrafast fiber placement robot. The system consists of a robotic arm designed by Coriolis Composites whose purpose is to move along a surface, on which composite fibers are deposed, via an independently controlled head.

The scope and responsibilities of control applications are increasing due to, for example, the emergence of industrial internet. To meet the challenge, model‐driven development techniques have been in active research in the application domain. Simulations that have been traditionally used in the domain, however, have not yet been sufficiently ...

Implementation and Evaluation of IEC 61499 Basic Function Blocks in Erlang [PDF]
Despite several architectural advantages for the challenges of future manufacturing systems, the IEC 61499 standard is currently not widely accepted by industry. One advantage of the IEC 61499 is the concept of downtimeless system evolution. An extension of this, dynamic software updating, which allows switching out running processes and deal with ...

Identification and Evaluation of Pitfalls in the Migration From IEC 61131-3 to IEC 61499: A Review
The IEC 61131-3 standard was initially established to define a common software architecture and programming languages for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) produced by various manufacturers, leading to its widespread adoption since 1993.
