Dicentrine, an Aporphine Alkaloid From Ocotea langsdorffii, Induces Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Oxidative Stress in Leishmania (L.) infantum [PDF]
Chemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 8, August 2026.Dicentrine, an aporphine alkaloid, exhibits potent in vitro antileishmanial activity against Leishmania species with high selectivity and low macrophage cytotoxicity. Mechanistic studies reveal that the compound triggers parasite death possibly by inducing mitochondrial membrane disruption and oxidative stress.
