Efficacy and Safety of Intralymphatic Immunotherapy With Grass Allergoid and Microcrystalline Tyrosine: A Double‐Blind Randomised Placebo‐Controlled Trial

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This is the first randomised placebo‐controlled trial of intralymphatic immunotherapy using a microcrystalline tyrosine‐adjuvanted grass pollen allergoid. Three ultrasound‐guided ILIT injections were well tolerated and reduced combined symptom‐medication scores compared with placebo. The findings support further optimisation and clinical development of

IgG4-related disease in the head and neck region: report of two cases and review of the literature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a rare immune-mediated condition characterized by extensive tissue fibrosis and infiltration by immunoglobulin G4 positive plasma cells in a single organ or systemic appearance.

Distinct Gene Expression Profiles of Ara h 2‐Specific B Cells in Desensitization and Tolerance During Peanut Oral Immunotherapy

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Gene expression of Ara h 2‐specific B cells over the course of the peanut OIT. Isotype of allergen‐specific B cells changes through OIT towards IgG4. Peanut OIT changes the gene expression of allergen‐specific memory B cells. OIT patients showed increased gene expression for regulatory B cells and immune regulation.

Exploring the depths of IgG4: insights into autoimmunity and novel treatments

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IgG4 subclass antibodies represent the rarest subclass of IgG antibodies, comprising only 3-5% of antibodies circulating in the bloodstream. These antibodies possess unique structural features, notably their ability to undergo a process known as fragment-

An update on IgG4-related lung disease

open access: yes, 2019
IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by substantial infiltration of plasma cells with IgG4 in target organs. Lung manifestations predominantly present as inflammatory pseudotumor, interstitial pneumonitis, organizing ...

Factors for Success and Failure of Allergen Immunotherapy (AIT) Trial Design in the Light of Evidence‐Based Medicine: Current Aspects 2026

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Allergen immunotherapy (AIT) has been acknowledged as the only disease‐modifying treatment for respiratory diseases since its introduction in 1911. Although the efficacy and safety have convincingly been established in numerous randomized clinical trials (RCTs), the AIT study results may vary substantially.

Human IgE Antibodies Recognize the Vicilin and Alpha‐Hairpinin Domains of Peanut Allergen Ara h 1

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
The ɑ‐hairpinin of Ara h 1 contains a dominant epitope that is both frequently recognized and blocks a majority of the IgE against this domain. Including this region in tests may improve diagnosis of peanut allergy. The trimeric structure of the vicilin region explains the ability of Ara h 1 to induce anaphylaxis with a single antibody.

Omics in IgG4-related disease

open access: yesChinese Medical Journal
Abstract Research on IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD), an autoimmune condition recognized to be a unique disease entity only two decades ago, has processed from describing patients’ symptoms and signs to summarizing its critical pathological features, and further to investigating key pathogenic mechanisms. Challenges in gaining a
