Diagnostic Utility of Liver Biopsy in Persistent Unexplained Liver Enzyme Elevation: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesJGH Open, Volume 9, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Chronically elevated liver enzymes without a clear etiology remain a frequent diagnostic challenge. This study evaluated the diagnostic yield of liver biopsy in such cases and assessed if laboratory parameters predict histological clarification. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 71 patients with unexplained elevated liver

Endoscopic Diagnostics for IgG4-Related Pancreatobiliary Diseases: Current Modalities and Clinical Perspectives

open access: yesDiagnostics
Type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP), IgG4-related sclerosing cholangitis (IgG4-SC), and IgG4-related cholecystitis are recognized as IgG4-related pancreatobiliary diseases.

Tepotinib‐Induced Cholangitis in a Patient With Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
Here, we report the first case of tepotinib‐induced cholangitis. When using MET inhibitors for chemotherapy, attention should be paid not only to treatment effectiveness but also to possible hepatobiliary side effects. ABSTRACT Tepotinib, a mesenchymal epithelial transition factor (MET) tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is used to treat non‐small cell lung ...

European Consensus Recommendations for Direct Cholangioscopy and Pancreatoscopy Using a Modified Delphi Process

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 13, Issue 9, Page 1652-1667, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Aim Direct cholangioscopy and pancreatoscopy have become widely implemented techniques in the diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms of several pancreaticobiliary disorders. This study aimed to generate general and indication‐specific European consensus recommendations on cholangioscopy and pancreatoscopy.

Role of Peroral Cholangioscopy in the Diagnosis of Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2020
Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is characterized by idiopathic biliary stricture followed by progressive cholestasis and fibrosis. When diagnosing PSC, its differentiation from other types of sclerosing cholangitis and cholangiocarcinoma is ...

IgG4-Producing MALT Lymphoma in the Renal Hilum

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncology, 2019
IgG4-related disease is diagnosed when both the elevation of the serum IgG4 level and invasion of IgG4-positive interstitial cells and sclerosis to a tumor are noted. Some cases have demonstrated malignant disease.

Immunoglobulin G4-related Disease: A Series of Four Cases [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
Immunoglobulin G4-related Disease (IgG4-RD) is an immune-mediated fibroinflammatory disease that affects multiple organs, resulting in tumefactive lesions and/or organ dysfunction.

IgG4‐Related Disease: Emerging Roles of Novel Genetic Variants, Immune Cell Subsets and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 80, Issue 10, Page 2738-2754, October 2025.
ABSTRACT IgG4, the least abundant IgG subclass in humans, is increasingly recognised for its involvement in allergic and autoimmune pathologies. Its unique properties, such as the tendency to form half‐molecules (one heavy chain and one light chain) and its generally non‐inflammatory nature, distinguish it from other IgG subclasses.

The pancreatic and extrapancreatic manifestations of IgG4-related disease

open access: yesDiagnostic and Interventional Radiology, 2018
The association between immunoglobulin IgG4 and autoimmune pancreatitis was first shown in 2001. Since then many previously established fibrosclerotic diseases demonstrating synchronous or metachronous multiorgan involvement have been included within the

Malignancies and IgG4‐related disease

open access: yesRheumatology &Autoimmunity, Volume 5, Issue 3, Page 161-173, September 2025.
Immunoglobulin G4‐related disease (IgG4‐RD) is associated with increased cancer risk. Malignancies affect both IgG4‐RD involved organs, such as the lung, pancreas, bile duct, and prostate, and noninvolved organs, such as the gastrointestinal duct. B‐cell neoplasms constitute a proportion of the malignancies linked to this disease.
