Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

The role of ionicity in correlating Debye temperature, energy gap and bond potential in tetrahedral semiconductors and their nanoscale dependence

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science
The relation between Debye temperature [Formula: see text] and energy gap [Formula: see text] for diamond-like structure semiconductors within groups IV, II-VI, III-V, I-III-VI2, II-IV-V2, III2-VI3 and I2-IV-VI3 was investigated. An empirical equation is

Optical Signature of Moiré Superlattices Formed by Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We discover optical signatures from bonded interfaces in twisted SrTiO3 moiré superlattices, including low‐frequency Raman vibrational modes and strong second‐harmonic generation, consistent with strong interlayer coupling inferred from cross‐sectional electron microscopy and ab initio calculations. ABSTRACT Moiré superlattices formed at the interfaces

Effect of Optical Illumination on Bubble Nanodomains

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Stable surface‐confined nanoscale bubble domains are created and manipulated in PMN‐PT single crystals. Under above‐bandgap illumination, these bubble nanodomains remain unchanged. However, upon illumination cessation, they rapidly expand to switch the entire crystal surface, due to the accumulation of a large reservoir of electrons at the crystal ...

Electronic Structure and Magnetic Properties of Cobalt Doped Zinc Oxide [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2011
Using the first principle methods, the electronic structure and magnetic properties of Co doped ZnO are investigated. It is found that Co substitutes Zn site in the host, and this doped configuration favors the ferromagnetic ground state.
