Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Charge neutrality level in significantly cation-anion mismatched semiconductors [PDF]

open access: yes
The fundamental bulk and surface electronic properties of a novel class of semiconductors, characterised by a significant mismatch between the size and electro-negativity of the cation and anion (SCAMS), have been investigated.

Tailoring Heterovalent Interface Formation with Light

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Integrating different semiconductor materials into an epitaxial device structure offers additional degrees of freedom to select for optimal material properties in each layer. However, interfaces between materials with different valences (i.e.

Optical Signature of Moiré Superlattices Formed by Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We discover optical signatures from bonded interfaces in twisted SrTiO3 moiré superlattices, including low‐frequency Raman vibrational modes and strong second‐harmonic generation, consistent with strong interlayer coupling inferred from cross‐sectional electron microscopy and ab initio calculations. ABSTRACT Moiré superlattices formed at the interfaces

The role of ionicity in correlating Debye temperature, energy gap and bond potential in tetrahedral semiconductors and their nanoscale dependence

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science
The relation between Debye temperature [Formula: see text] and energy gap [Formula: see text] for diamond-like structure semiconductors within groups IV, II-VI, III-V, I-III-VI2, II-IV-V2, III2-VI3 and I2-IV-VI3 was investigated. An empirical equation is

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Tetrapod-shaped colloidal nanocrystals of ii-vi semiconductors prepared by seeded growth

open access: yes, 2009
We report a general synthetic approach to tetrapod-shaped colloidal nanocrystals made of various combinations of II-VI semiconductors. Uniform tetrapods were prepared using preformed seeds in the sphalerite structure, onto which arms were grown by ...
