Preferential Solvation of Sulfadiazine, Sulfamerazine and Sulfamethazine in Ethanol + Water Solvent Mixtures According to the IKBI Method

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Liquids, 2014
Abstract The preferential solvation parameters of sulfadiazine, sulfamerazine and sulfamethazine in ethanol + water binary mixtures were derived from their thermodynamic properties by means of the inverse Kirkwood–Buff integrals (IKBI) method. From solvent effect studies, it is found that these sulfonamides are sensitive to solvation effects, so the ...

Preferential Solvation of the Antioxidant Agent Daidzein in Some Aqueous Co-Solvent Mixtures According to IKBI and QLQC Methods [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Solution Chemistry and Modeling, 2015
The preferential solvation parameters by ethanol (EtOH) or propylene glycol (PG) of daidzein were derived from their solution thermodynamic properties by means of the inverse Kirkwood-Buff integrals and the quasi-lattice-quasi-chemical (QLQC) methods ...

Solubility of Edaravone in Water/Cosolvent Mixtures of Some Alcohols Revisited: IKBI Preferential Solvation Analysis and Thermodynamic Properties

open access: yesPhysics and Chemistry of Liquids
To better understand edaravone (EDA), its solubility behaviour in water-alcohol mixtures (methanol (MeOH), and ethanol (EtOH)) at various temperatures (293.15–323.15 K) was studied. Moreover, it was revealed that the dissolution of EDA is an endothermic process mainly induced by enthalpy changes, where these contributions (over 76%) are common in all ...

Solubility of phenobarbital in aqueous cosolvent mixtures revisited: IKBI preferential solvation analysis

Physics and Chemistry of Liquids, 2016
ABSTRACTThe preferential solvation parameters of phenobarbital in aqueous binary mixtures of 1,4-dioxane, t-butanol, n-propanol, ethanol, propylene glycol and glycerol were derived from solution thermodynamic properties by using the IKBI method. This drug is sensitive to preferential solvation effects in all these mixtures.
