Modulation of T cell responses by IL-2 and IL-2 complexes

open access: yesClinical and experimental rheumatology, 2015
Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a cytokine centrally involved in the regulation of immune tolerance and activation by its effects on CD4+ T regulatory (Treg) cells and cytotoxic effector lymphocytes, respectively. Due to these properties IL-2 immunotherapy has been used, as low-dose IL-2, in the treatment of autoimmune and chronic-inflammatory disorders ...

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

IL-2 based cancer immunotherapies: an evolving paradigm

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Discovered over 4 decades ago in the supernatants of activated T cells, interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a potent pleiotropic cytokine involved in the regulation of immune responses.

INTERLEUKIN-2 – AND INTERFERON-ALPHA- INDUCED CHANGES OF PERIPHERAL BLOOD LYMPHOCYTE SUBPOPULATIONS IN CHILDREN WITH ADVANCED MALIGNANCIES, TREATED WITH CHEMOTHERAPY AND WHOLE BODY HYPERTHERMIA

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2014
. The effect of cytokine preparations (Interleukin-2/IL-2/Proleukin and interferon-alpha/IFN-α 2b/ Intron A) on immune cell subpopulations has been studied in the children suffering with advanced malignancies during intensive chemotherapy cycles combined

Improved Outcomes for Older Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults With Neuroblastoma in the Post‐Immunotherapy Era: An Updated Report From the International Neuroblastoma Risk Group

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background We describe clinical and biologic characteristics of neuroblastoma in older children, adolescents, and young adults (OCAYA); describe survival outcomes in the post‐immunotherapy era; and identify if there is an age cut‐off that best discriminates outcomes.

ROLE OF LECTIN-SUBSTRANCE RECOGNITION IN IMMUNOREGULATORY INTERACTION BETWEEN INTERLEUKIN-2 IGG

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2014
As assessed by decreased response of ConA-induced blasts to IL-2, a staphylococcal protein A was shown to extract IL-2 from cultural medium after its preincubation with IgG, but it did not bind pure IL-2.

IL-2 regulation of soluble IL-2 receptor levels following thermal injury

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Immunology, 1992
SUMMARYIn the immunosuppresscd burn patient serum levels of both IL-2 and a soluble form of IL-2 receptor alpha (sIL-2Rα) are significantly elevated. Strikingly, the production of these markers by the in vitro activated patients' cells is decreased. This study examines the role of IL-2 in the decreased production of the sIL-2Rαin vitro in patients with

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.
