Assessment of IL-38 Levels in Patients with Acquired Immune-Mediated Polyneuropathies
Journal of Molecular Neuroscience, 2020Acute and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (AIDP and CIDP) are two types of immune-mediated neuropathies in which abnormal cellular or humoral immune responses have been observed. Although dysregulation of several cytokines has been detected in these disorders, expression of interleukin 38 (IL-38) has not yet been assessed in AIDP and ...

Interleukin newcomers creating new numbers in rheumatology: IL-34 to IL-38
Joint Bone Spine, 2013The development of innovative technologies is steadily increasing the body of knowledge on molecules involved in physiological functions. Thus, several interleukins (ILs) have been identified and characterized in the past few years. Here, we detail the structural and functional characteristics of IL-34 to IL-38 with special attention to their ...

IL-17 and IL-38 gene polymorphisms in thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy
International OphthalmologyThyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) is an autoimmune condition commonly linked with Graves' disease (GD), characterized by orbital tissue inflammation and fibrosis. It is hypothesized that gene polymorphisms may influence production of the IL-17 and IL-38 cytokines, thereby impacting TAO development and progression.

Evaluation of Salivary Il-38 Levels in Periodontitis: A Cross-Sectional Study
Journal of Interferon & Cytokine ResearchThe goal of the current study was to assess levels of salivary interleukin (IL)-38, IL-1β, and IL-10 in various periodontal clinical conditions. In total, 60 (20 healthy, 20 gingivitis, and 20 stage II-III, grade A-B periodontitis) subjects were included in the study. Demographic and clinical periodontal parameters were recorded.
