Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.

DETERMINATION OF SELECTED PARAMETERS IN A 1D OPEN CHANNEL FLOW MODEL
Determination of the model’s parameters is an important stage of mathematical models’ application. In the case of a free-surface 1D unsteady flow model defined by the de Saint-Venant equations, one of the groups of parameters to be estimated is the set ...

An Optimally Generalized Steepest-Descent Algorithm for Solving Ill-Posed Linear Systems
It is known that the steepest-descent method converges normally at the first few iterations, and then it slows down. We modify the original steplength and descent direction by an optimization argument with the new steplength as being a merit function to ...

Terahertz Channel Modeling, Estimation and Localization in RIS‐Assisted Systems
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces have become a recent intensive research focus. Based on practical applications, channel strategies for RIS‐assisted terahertz wireless communication systems are categorized into three different types: channel modeling, channel estimation, and channel localization.

From Materials to Systems: Challenges and Solutions for Fast‐Charge/Discharge Na‐Ion Batteries
This review systematically analyzes the key characteristics limiting the fast‐charge/discharge capability of Na‐ion batteries (SIBs) from a multi‐scale perspective encompassing electrode materials, the electrode‐electrolyte interface, and the system. Furthermore, it presents practical solution strategies for the fundamental issues arising at each scale,

On a Level-Set Method for Ill-Posed Problems with Piecewise Nonconstant Coefficients
We investigate a level-set-type method for solving ill-posed problems, with the assumption that the solutions are piecewise, but not necessarily constant functions with unknown level sets and unknown level values.
