Interactive global illumination based on coherent surface shadow maps. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Interactive rendering of global illumination effects is a challenging problem. While precomputed radiance transfer (PRT) is able to render such effects in real time the geometry is generally assumed static.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

Illumination Estimation and Segmentation in Multi Illuminant Scenes

open access: yes, 2023

Estimation of illumination spectrum from a hyperspectral image

open access: yes, 2020
Illumination separation in the red, green, blue (RGB) color space has been an essential topic for color constancy. A simple and non-iterative solution for hyperspectral illumination estimation is proposed in this study, which is based on the assumption ...

Quantifying Subsurface Weak in‐Plane Magnetization of Mixed Phase BiFeO3 by Scanning Nitrogen Vacancy Magnetometry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We use scanning nitrogen vacancy magnetometry to directly image the weak in‐plane magnetic moments in mixed phase BiFeO3 at the nanoscale and quantify the local magnetic moments to be 18.8±2.0 μB/nm2 in the rhombohedral‐like phase and 1.5±0.6 μB/nm2 in the well‐known non‐magnetic tetragonal‐like phase.

Dynamic Diffuse Global Illumination Resampling

open access: yes, 2022
Interactive global illumination remains a challenge in radiometrically and geometrically complex scenes. Specialized sampling strategies are effective for specular and near‐specular transport because the scattering has relatively low directional variance

Multimode Oxide‐Based Optoelectronic Memtransistor for In‐Sensor Vision Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multimode optoelectronic memtransistor (OEMT) is demonstrated for vision explainable artificial intelligence (VXAI) hardware. By integrating optical sensing, electrical masking, and non‐volatile memory, the device enables key operations required for generating saliency information.

Underground low-light self-supervised image enhancement method based on structure and texture perception

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Due to the complex spatial environment and uneven artificial lighting underground, images captured by underground visual equipment often suffer from insufficient overall or partial lighting and poor visibility of image content. Existing image enhancement

Ultra-wide angle lens design with relative illumination analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
An ultra-wide angle lens design with relative illumination analysis is presented. The half field angle of 80°, the relative illumination of the image plane will be reduced.
