Low-Light Image Enhancement for Driving Condition Recognition Through Multi-Band Images Fusion and Translation

open access: yesMathematics
When objects are obscured by shadows or dim surroundings, image quality is improved by fusing near-infrared and visible-light images. At night, when visible and NIR lights are insufficient, long-wave infrared (LWIR) imaging can be utilized, necessitating

Multi‐head mutual‐attention CycleGAN for unpaired image‐to‐image translation

open access: yesIET Image Processing, 2020
The image‐to‐image translation, i.e. from source image domain to target image domain, has made significant progress in recent years. The most popular method for unpaired image‐to‐image translation is CycleGAN.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Unsupervised Structure-Consistent Image-to-Image Translation

open access: yes, 2022
The Swapping Autoencoder achieved state-of-the-art performance in deep image manipulation and image-to-image translation. We improve this work by introducing a simple yet effective auxiliary module based on gradient reversal layers. The auxiliary module's loss forces the generator to learn to reconstruct an image with an all-zero texture code ...

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Masked Discriminators for Content-Consistent Unpaired Image-to-Image Translation

open access: yesIEEE Access
A common goal of unpaired image-to-image translation is to preserve content consistency between source images and translated images while mimicking the style of the target domain.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Masked Style Transfer for Source-Coherent Image-to-Image Translation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The goal of image-to-image translation (I2I) is to translate images from one domain to another while maintaining the content representations. A popular method for I2I translation involves the use of a reference image to guide the transformation process ...
