Haptic annotation for an interactive image
Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication, 2011This paper proposes a method for constructing a 3D model with mechanical properties by embedding multiple haptic maps into an ordinary 2D image. The haptic information described in this paper consists of the depth, stiffness, and viscous damping distribution, each of which takes the form of a 2D grayscale image.

This paper describes an efficient approach to image annotation. It ranked first on the recent scene categorization track of the ImagEVAL1 benchmark. We show how homogeneous global image descriptors combined with a pool of Support Vector Machines achieve very good results.
