Image authentication techniques for surveillance applications

Proceedings of the IEEE, 2001
In automatic video surveillance (VS) systems, the issue of authenticating the video content is of primary importance. Given the ease with which digital images and videos can be manipulated, practically they do not have any value as legal proof, if the possibility of authenticating their content is not provided.

Watermarking for image authentication

Proceedings 1998 International Conference on Image Processing. ICIP98 (Cat. No.98CB36269), 1998
A data embedding method is proposed for image authentication based on table look-up in frequency domain. A visually meaningful watermark and a set of simple features are embedded invisibly in the marked image, which can be stored in the compressed form.

Digital Image Authentication

International Journal of Digital Library Systems, 2011
Digital image authentication refers to all the techniques performing anti-falsification, digital image copyright protection, or access control. A large number of DIA techniques have been developed to authenticate digital images, including cryptography-based digital image authentication (CBDIA) techniques and data-hiding-based digital image ...

A Framework for Image Based Authentication

Proceedings. (ICASSP '05). IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005., 2006
This paper presents an innovative framework for user authentication based on images. Common user authentication based on passwords has the main drawback of the human difficulty in recalling them. Images are instead easier to remember than passwords. Moreover, modern compression and transmission techniques make image exchange between different devices ...

Robust Document Image Authentication

Multimedia and Expo, 2007 IEEE International Conference on, 2007
In this paper, we propose a novel method for robust document image authentication. In the proposed method, characters and symbols on a binary document are first grouped into different classes based on k-means clustering in the feature space. Labels are then assigned to the different classes.

Compression tolerant image authentication

Proceedings 1998 International Conference on Image Processing. ICIP98 (Cat. No.98CB36269), 2002
It is straightforward to apply general schemes for authenticating digital data to the problem of authenticating digital images. However, such a scheme would not authenticate images that have undergone lossy compression, even though they may not have been manipulated otherwise. We propose a scheme for authenticating the visual content of digital images.

An Image Encryption and Authentication Scheme

2011 Seventh International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Security, 2011
In this paper, a fast image encryption and authentication scheme is presented. In the proposed scheme, a 512-bit message authentication code generated by a keyed hash function is embedded into the image by reversible data embedding technique. Then the embedded image is masked by the pseudo random sequence in feedback mode.

Authenticated compressive sensing imaging

2017 International Symposium on Networks, Computers and Communications (ISNCC), 2017
The CS (Compressive Sensing) theory has been widely implemented in many areas, the CSI (Compressive Sensing Imaging) method is one of them. In this paper, in order to design the authenticated CSI system, we have introduced the CSI method and the image authentication mechanisms. The design strategies would be also discussed.

Image enhancement towards soft image authentication

2000 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo. ICME2000. Proceedings. Latest Advances in the Fast Changing World of Multimedia (Cat. No.00TH8532), 2002
This paper describes an image enhancement technique that can be made to any message authentication code (MAC) to improve its survivability against acceptable signal distortions such as re-compression, etc. This algorithm improves the MAC's error tolerance by transforming the image and creating an error tolerance buffer.

Authenticity and integrity of digital mammography images

IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, 2001
Data security becomes more and more important in telemammography which uses a public high-speed wide area network connecting the examination site with the mammography expert center. Generally, security is characterized in terms of privacy, authenticity and integrity of digital data. Privacy is a network access issue and is not considered in this paper.
