Wavelet shrinkage using adaptive structured sparsity constraints [PDF]
Structured sparsity approaches have recently received much attention in the statistics, machine learning, and signal processing communities. A common strategy is to exploit or assume prior information about structural dependencies inherent in the data ...

Exposing image forgery through detecting contrast enhancement [PDF]
In this paper, a novel forensic method of exposing cut-and-paste image forgery through detecting contrast enhancement is proposed. We reveal the inter-channel correlation introduced by color image interpolation, and show how a linear or nonlinear ...

Image denoising aims to remove noise from images and improve the quality of images. However, most image denoising methods heavily rely on pairwise training strategies and strict prior knowledge about image structure or noise distribution.

Enhancing Maturation of Human Neuromuscular Organoids via Electrical Stimulation
A framework for on‐demand and non‐invasive exposure of human neuromuscular organoids (NMOs) to electrical stimuli is established to promote their maturation. The robustness and effectiveness of different stimulation regimes are evaluated via thorough characterization of organoid tissue structure and contraction capacity. Chronic electrical stimulation,

Nonlinear optimisation method for image segmentation and noise reduction using geometrical intrinsic properties [PDF]
This paper considers the optimisation of a nonlinear functional for image segmentation and noise reduction. Equations optimising this functional are derived and employed to detect edges using geometrical intrinsic properties such as metric and Riemann ...

ANKS1B in the nucleus accumbens plays a critical role in the transition from controlled to escalated cocaine intake. Mechanistically, ANKS1B interacts with CBP to epigenetically suppress FoxO3 through H3K27 acetylation. The ANKS1B‐CBP‐FoxO3 signaling cascade presents a novel theraputic target for the treatment of cocaine addiction.

Distribution Conditional Denoising: A Flexible Discriminative Image Denoiser
A flexible discriminative image denoiser is introduced in which multi-task learning methods are applied to a densoising FCN based on U-Net. The activations of the U-Net model are modified by affine transforms that are a learned function of conditioning inputs.
