New approach to image encryption

Journal of Electronic Imaging, 1998
A new cryptographic method for encrypting still images is proposed. This method is designed on the basis of the base- switching lossless image compression algorithm. The method there- fore simultaneously possesses both image encryption and lossless compression abilities. A given image is first partitioned into nonover- lapping fixed-size subimages, and

Efficient selective image encryption

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2015
Selective image encryption has a significant importance in many applications as it offers significant savings in computations, cost, and time. Many attempts are exerted for this purpose as the traditional full image encryption/decryption algorithms may be too massive. In this paper, a new technique for selective image encryption is developed.

Temporal Ordered Image Encryption

2011 Third International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing, 2011
The existing image encryption algorithms encrypt images independently, which means the probability of an eavesdropper working out one image stays the same under the same circumstances (same bits of keys and the same algorithm, for example). However, in real-life applications such as communication systems, on one hand, sequences of images may need to be

HYPERCHAOS BASED IMAGE ENCRYPTION

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2009
Chaos based encryption may offer new quality in secure data transmission. A recently proposed Chaotic-Key Based Algorithm (CKBA) has been shown to be unavoidably susceptible to chosen/known-plaintext attacks and ciphertext-only attacks. In this paper, Hyper Chaotic-Key Based Algorithm (HCKBA) using hyper chaos is proposed to enhance the security of ...

Image Encryption using an Image Pattern based on Advanced Encryption Standard

2021 IEEE Colombian Conference on Communications and Computing (COLCOM), 2021
Due to the global pandemic now more than ever, there is a need to send and receive reliable text or graphic information, whether for work, study, or any other activity. And this is where encryption plays an important role in improving data protection.

An encrypted image editing scheme based on homomorphic encryption

2015 IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS), 2015
There are lots of online image applications which provide image editor services for users. As the plain image may disclose privacy, this paper proposed an encrypted image editing scheme based on homomorphic encryption to make the service be able to process the encrypted image.

Edge Detection and Image Segmentation on Encrypted Image with Homomorphic Encryption and Garbled Circuit

2018 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME), 2018
Edge detection is one of the most important topics of image processing. In the scenario of cloud computing, performing edge detection may also consider privacy protection. In this paper, we propose an edge detection and image segmentation scheme on an encrypted image with Sobel edge detector.

Optical image encryption based on diffractive imaging

Optics Letters, 2010
In this Letter, we propose a method for optical image encryption based on diffractive imaging. An optical multiple random phase mask encoding system is applied, and one of the phase-only masks is selected and laterally translated along a preset direction during the encryption process.
