CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

The Image Characteristics for Perceived Naturalness
To identify the visual characteristics that make a scene looks nature, we investigated the relationship between the distribution of spatial frequency spectrum of an image and its perceived naturalness.

A short feature vector for image matching: The Log-Polar Magnitude feature descriptor. [PDF]
The choice of an optimal feature detector-descriptor combination for image matching often depends on the application and the image type. In this paper, we propose the Log-Polar Magnitude feature descriptor-a rotation, scale, and illumination invariant ...

Unpaired Image-to-Image Translation to Improve Log End Identification
Visual re-identification tasks are often subject to large domain variations due to camera types, brightness conditions, or environmental differences. For identification models to generalize in such varying domains, a large amount of training data is necessary for capturing these variations.

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Study of Convolutional Neural Networks for Global Parametric Motion Estimation on Log-Polar Imagery
The problem of motion estimation from images has been widely studied in the past. Although many mature solutions exist, there are still open issues and challenges to be addressed.

Disparity Estimation on Log-Polar Images and Vergence Control [PDF]
Summary: An important issue in the realization of an autonomous robot with stereoscopic vision is the control of vergence. Together with version, it determines uniquely the position of the fixation point in space. Vergence control is directly related to both depth perception and binocular fusion.

This study identifies somatostatin receptor 4 (Sstr4) as a critical tumor suppressor against skin and head/neck cancers (HNSCC, cSCC, and BCC). The loss of Sstr4 removes a check on cell growth, causing hyperactivation of the MAPK‐ERK signaling pathway (↑).
