Prediction of functional outcomes in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage using pre-/postoperative noncontrast CT within 3 days of admission

open access: yesnpj Digital Medicine
Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a life-threatening condition, and accurate prediction of functional outcomes is critical for optimizing patient management within the initial 3 days of presentation.

UASea: A Data Acquisition Toolbox for Improving Marine Habitat Mapping

open access: yesDrones, 2021
Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) are widely used in the acquisition of high-resolution information in the marine environment. Although the potential applications of UAS in marine habitat mapping are constantly increasing, many limitations need to be ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Visual Interface Evaluation for Wearables Datasets: Predicting the Subjective Augmented Vision Image QoE and QoS

open access: yesFuture Internet, 2017
As Augmented Reality (AR) applications become commonplace, the determination of a device operator’s subjective Quality of Experience (QoE) in addition to objective Quality of Service (QoS) metrics gains importance. Human subject experimentation is common

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

An Innovative Method to Improve Model Accuracy by Implementing Multi-models Scheme for 28nm Node and Below

open access: yesJournal of Microelectronic Manufacturing, 2019
As the process comes into 28nm node and below, lithography struggles stronger between high resolution (high NA) and enough process window especially for hole layers (Contacts and Vias). Taking more care of process window may result in lower image quality

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
