Ancient Wall Painting Restoration Based on Improved Adaptive Sample Block Criminisi Algorithm and CDD Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access
To better protect and restore ancient mural art, this study proposes an improved adaptive sample block Criminisi algorithm to address the shortcomings of traditional manual restoration methods.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A brief summary of digital image enhancement [PDF]

open access: yes
Digital image processing is a modern branch of computer application. With the help of computers the visual quality of original images which were blurred by external interferences or optical transfer function of transmission channel can be improved so ...

An Improved Face Image Restoration Method Based on Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Models

open access: yesIEEE Access
Image restoration is a crucial task in computer vision, aiming to fill in missing areas within an image to restore its integrity. Traditional methods fall short when dealing with intricate facial image restoration, often failing to produce high-quality ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

The Use of Features Extracted from Noisy Samples for Image Restoration Purposes [PDF]

open access: yes
An important feature of neural networks is the ability they have to learn from their environment, and, through learning to improve performance in some sense.

A parallel primal-dual splitting method for image restoration

open access: yes, 2016
We develop a parallel primal-dual splitting method to solve large-scale image restoration problems, which involve the sum of several linear-operator-coupled nonsmooth but proximable terms.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

FWT based preconditioners for Image restoration problems

open access: yes, 1996
The problem of removing or minimizing degradations in a blurred and noisy image is known as image restoration. The computational kernel of many image restoration problems is the solution of the following inverse problem: Hf=g+η where where the n2-vectors

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
