Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Metrics for Stereoscopic Image Compression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Metrics for automatically predicting the compression settings for stereoscopic images, to minimize file size, while still maintaining an acceptable level of image quality are investigated.

Background recovering in outdoor image sequences: An example of soccer players segmentation

open access: yes, 2015
In this work, we consider the problem of background pixels information recovering which can be used, for example, in applications concerning segmentation and tracking of components in video images.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Watershed from propagated markers: An interactive method to morphological object segmentation in image sequences

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, it is introduced an interactive method to object segmentation in image sequences, by combining classical morphological segmentation with motion estimation - the watershed from propagated markers.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Aerial moving target detection based on motion vector field analysis

open access: yes, 2007
An efficient automatic detection strategy for aerial moving targets in airborne forward-looking infrared (FLIR) imagery is presented in this paper. Airborne cameras induce a global motion over all objects in the image, that invalidates motion-based ...

Translating Images to Road Network: A Sequence-to-Sequence Perspective

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence
The extraction of road network is essential for the generation of high-definition maps since it enables the precise localization of road landmarks and their interconnections. However, generating road network poses a significant challenge due to the conflicting underlying combination of Euclidean (e.g., road landmarks location) and non-Euclidean (e.g ...
