Unsupervised image segmentation combining region and boundary estimation [PDF]
An integrated approach to image segmentation is presented that combines region and boundary information using maximum a posteriori estimation and decision theory.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

1-(3-Amino-1-phenylpropyl)-3-(2-fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-benzimidazol-2-one
Starting from 1-(2-fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-benzimidazol-2-one (1) and (1-bromo-3-chloropropyl)benzene (2), the target compound 3, which represents a precursor for future radiolabeling, is prepared in a three-step synthesis.

K-Means Clustering Guided Generative Adversarial Networks for SAR-Optical Image Matching
Synthetic Aperture Radar and optical (SAR-optical) image matching is a technique of finding correspondences between SAR and optical images. SAR-optical image matching can be simplified to single-mode image matching through image synthesis.

Exemplar-Based Sketch Colorization with Cross-Domain Dense Semantic Correspondence
This paper aims to solve the task of coloring a sketch image given a ready-colored exemplar image. Conventional exemplar-based colorization methods tend to transfer styles from reference images to grayscale images by employing image analogy techniques or

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Multi-Style Unsupervised Image Synthesis Using Generative Adversarial Nets
Unsupervised cross-domain image-to-image translation is a very active topic in computer vision and graphics. This task has two challenges: 1) lack of paired training data and 2) numerous possible outputs from a single image.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
