Stability estimate for scalar image velocimetry

open access: yesJournal of Inverse and Ill-posed Problems, 2023
Abstract In this paper, we analyze the stability of the system of partial differential equations modelling scalar image velocimetry. We first revisit a successful numerical technique to reconstruct velocity vectors u

Feature Tracking Velocimetry Applied to Airborne Measurement Data from Murg Creek

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
A new image feature tracking velocimetry is presented and tested on airborne video data available from a previous study at Murg Creek (Canton Thurgau, Switzerland). Here, the seeded flow scenery had been recorded by an off-the-shelf action camera mounted

Uncertainty assessment for a towed underwater stereo PIV system by uniform flow measurement

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2018
The present study aims to assess test uncertainty assessment method of nominal wake field measurement by a Stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry (SPIV) system in a towing tank.

Uncertainty quantification in particle image velocimetry

open access: yesMeasurement science and technology, 2019
Particle image velocimetry (PIV) has become the chief experimental technique for velocity field measurements in fluid flows. The technique yields quantitative visualizations of the instantaneous flow patterns, which are typically used to support the ...

Image processing technique for hydraulic application

open access: yesТруды Института системного программирования РАН, 2018
In this paper, we present techniques Surface Flow Image Velocimetry (SFIV) that is a practical extension of Particle Image Velocimetry method (PIV). In particular, this technique is to evaluate the behavior on the surface flow for complex flow.

Towards harmonisation of image velocimetry techniques for river surface velocity observations

open access: yesEarth System Science Data, 2019
. Since the turn of the 21st century, image-based velocimetry techniques have become an increasingly popular approach for determining open-channel flow in a range of hydrological settings across Europe and beyond.

Patient‐Derived 3D Heart‐On‐a‐Chip Model of Dilated Cardiomyopathy With Embedded Bead‐Based Mapping of Tissue Contractility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A heart‐on‐a‐chip model of dilated cardiomyopathy is developed from patient‐derived induced pluripotent stem cells. The model recapitulates key disease phenotypes and enables functional assessment through integrated bead‐based tracking and pillar deflection measurements.

Particle Imaging Velocimetry with Color-Encoded Illumination: A Review

open access: yesSensors
High-resolution and three-dimensional measurements at large scales represent a crucial frontier in flow diagnostics. Color-encoded illumination particle imaging velocimetry has emerged as a promising non-contact volumetric measurement technique in recent

Particle image velocimetry (PIV) uncertainty quantification using moment of correlation (MC) plane [PDF]

open access: yesMeasurement science and technology, 2018
We present a new uncertainty estimation method for particle image velocimetry (PIV), that uses the correlation plane as a model for the probability density function (PDF) of displacements and calculates the second order moment of the correlation (MC ...

Photoactive Tweezers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A photoactive tweezers system based on photoactive colloids is developed and systematically investigated in this study. Through experimental and theoretical methods, we demonstrate that the photoredox reaction catalyzed by a dye‐sensitized TiO2 particle generates a strong positive phototaxis, enabling self‐entrapment in the beam center.
