An Imaging Algorithm for GPR Data

Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems 1999, 1999
The finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is calculated by the explicit finite approximation scheme of Maxwell’s curl equations. Since it allows arbitrary electrical conductivity and permittivity variations within a model, the FDTD method has become one of the powerful forward modeling methods for electromagnetic (EM) phenomena. On the other hand,

Multispectral image compression algorithms

[Proceedings] DCC `93: Data Compression Conference, 2002
This paper presents a data compression algorithm capable of significantly reducing the amounts of information contained in multispectral and hyperspectral images. The loss of information ranges from a perceptually lossless level, achieved at 20-30:1 compression ratios, to a one where exploitation of the images is still possible (over 100:1 ratios).

A Steganographic Algorithm for JPEG2000 Image

2008 International Conference on Computer Science and Software Engineering, 2008
A steganographic algorithm for JPEG2000 image is introduced which substitutes secret massages for the codes of high frequency subbands of wavelet fields based on the encoding character of JPEG2000. Because the secret messages are directly embedded into the packages which are the smallest cells of the compressed code streams, retrieval of messages need ...

A new image rectification algorithm

Pattern Recognition Letters, 2003
A novel and efficient image rectification method using the fundamental matrix is proposed. In this approach, camera calibration is not required, and image resampling becomes very simple by using the Bresenham algorithm to extract pixels along the corresponding epipolar line.

The Algorithm of Iris Image Preprocessing

Fourth IEEE Workshop on Automatic Identification Advanced Technologies (AutoID'05), 2006
Iris image preprocessing, including iris localization and iris image quality evaluation, is the key step in iris recognition and has a close relationship to the accuracy of matching. So far, there are many iris localization algorithms having been proposed.

An Encryption Algorithm for ROI Images

2017
According to JPEG2000 image encryption algorithm based on confusion of the wavelet coefficients cannot support region-of-interest(ROI) image coding, an encryption method for ROI images is proposed. The proposed method Generates the confusion table using Chaotic sequences, confuses the Wavelet coefficients inside each code blocks, and encrypts the sign ...

The EM algorithm in medical imaging

Statistical Methods in Medical Research, 1997
This article outlines the statistical developments that have taken place in the use of the EM algorithm in emission and transmission tomography during the past decade or so. We discuss the statistical aspects of the modelling of the projection data for both the emission and transmission cases and define the relevant probability models.

An algorithm for thinning noisy images

International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002
A two-step algorithm is presented for thinning noisy images. The first step consists of removing noisy spurs from an image using a combination of morphological operations. In the second step, thinning is performed by using the standard morphological skeleton transform (MST).

Image segmentation algorithms comparison

2015 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2015
This work aims to compare two segmentation tools that are based on the same multiresolution segmentation algorithm. The main significance of this investigation is to assess the feasibility of the use of a free tool (InterIMAGE) instead of a commercial one (eCognition) but still achieving equivalent results.
