Concentrations of Imidacloprid and Olefin-Imidacloprid Metabolite in the Walnut Husk Maggot (Diptera:Tephritidae)

open access: yesFlorida Entomologist, 2014
Several species of insects diminish the value of black walnut, which is considered a valuable economic and environmental tree species. Because imidacloprid has been used successfully against pests of other host plants, we investigated how it would impact larvae of the walnut husk maggot, Rhagoletis suavis (Loew), on black walnuts.

Rational Design and Functional Optimization of Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy Substrates: From Material Engineering to Bioanalysis

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 3, March 2026.
This review presents a rational design framework for high‐performance surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrates enabling ultrasensitive detection. It first elucidates the dual enhancement mechanisms, namely the dominant electromagnetic enhancement arising from localized surface plasmon resonances and the complementary chemical enhancement ...

Pesticide Contamination in the Hair of Children From Colonia San Juan, a Rural Community in Paraguay

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 18, Issue 3, Page 354-369, March 2026.
Hair analysis in children from a rural community in Paraguay reveals exposure to organophosphates, pyrethroids, neonicotinoids, fungicides, herbicides, and endocrine disruptors, highlighting the urgent need for stricter environmental protections and preventive health measures. ABSTRACT Chronic exposure to pesticides can cause carcinogenic, reproductive,

Metabolism of Imidacloprid in Houseflies

open access: yesJournal of Pesticide Science, 2004
Metabolism of imidacloprid in the housefly Musca domestica was investigated. After the injection of 14C-labeled imidacloprid, radioactivity decreased to approximately 20% of the initial level within 24 hr. Most of the 14C in the excreta as well as that in the insect body was accounted for by an olefin derivative of imidacloprid.

Dietary Spirulina Ameliorates Arsenic‐Induced Toxicity in Nile Tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Arsenic contamination poses serious risks to Nile tilapia by reducing growth, feed efficiency and haemoglobin, while elevating blood glucose and muscle arsenic levels. This 56‐day feeding trial evaluated the protective role of spirulina (20 g/kg) under varying arsenic exposure.

The “Pesticide Chip”: Chemical Legacies and Agrarian Futures in Costa Rica

open access: yesAntipode, Volume 58, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract For decades, agro‐industrial capital has adopted cascading chemical and biotechnical interventions, or fixes, to secure accumulation through the cultivation of monocrops. We develop a framework that centres on how monocrop‐induced susceptibility to pests and pathogens—and the patchwork of fixes to address these—produces uneven chemical ...

Chemical Priming by Neonicotinoids Unveils CaNEN4 as a Susceptibility Gene Against Phytophthora capsici in Pepper

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 3, March 2026.
IMI/TMX priming induces resistance to Phytophthora capsici by balancing ROS and suppressing RNA‐seq‐identified susceptibility genes, including CaNEN4, for sustainable management of pepper Phytophthora blight. ABSTRACT The oomycete Phytophthora capsici causes Phytophthora blight, a major constraint on global pepper production.

Imidacloprid and pyrimethanil soil sorption

open access: yesAgronomie, 2001
