Imidazolinones [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1984
The imidazolinones, a new chemical class of herbicides, were shown to be uncompetitive inhibitors of acetohydroxyacid synthase from corn. This is the first common enzyme in the biosynthetic pathway for valine, leucine, and isoleucine. The K(i) for the imidazolinones tested ranged from 2 to 12 micromolar.

Copper(II) complexes of imidazolinone herbicides

Inorganica Chimica Acta, 1997
Abstract The copper(II) complexes formed by the imidazolinone herbicide Imazapyr or (±)-2-4-isopropyl-(4-methyl-5-oxo-2-imidazolin-2-yl)-nicotinic acid (H 2 imz) are described. The compounds isolated in the solid state confirm that Imazapyr is a versatile bipy-like ligand able to chelate the metal ion through two different donor sets.

Efficacy of imidazolinone herbicides applied to imidazolinone-resistant maize and their carryover effect on rotational crops

Crop Protection, 2005
Abstract A field study was performed in imidazolinone-resistant maize in order to evaluate the effectiveness and carryover effect on rotational crops of two formulated mixtures of imidazolinone herbicides: imazapyr plus imazapic and imazapyr plus imazethapyr.

Phytostimulation of lowland soil contaminated with imidazolinone herbicides

International Journal of Phytoremediation, 2020
The phytostimulation is a phytoremediation technique that can be used to remediate area contaminated with herbicides. It is necessary to select plants with high capacity to stimulate soil microbial activity. The present work aimed at evaluating seven plant species regarding their ability to phytostimulate soil and enhance the degradation of the ...

Role of Ferrihydrite in Adsorption of Three Imidazolinone Herbicides

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2001
Adsorption of the imidazolinone herbicides imazapyr, imazethapyr, and imazaquin on synthetic ferrihydrites, either freeze-dried or not-freeze-dried, has been studied. The synthetic ferrihydrites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron micrographs, and specific area determination.

Haptens and Monoclonal Antibodies for Immunoassay of Imidazolinone Herbicides

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2002
A set of haptens structurally resembling the herbicide imazethapyr (PURSUIT) was synthesized and used to derive monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) and direct and indirect competition enzyme immunoassays (EIAs) which could detect imazethapyr, imazaquin (SCEPTER), imazapic (CADRE), and imazamox (RAPTOR) in the 3-30 ng/mL (parts per billion) range, and imazapyr
